sexing garters

Can garters be sexed by "eyeballing"? if so,how do you do it? Mine all seem to have the same tail length in proportion to body length.Also,I don't notice any bulges. Thanks! in advance and here'a a pic of my female wanderig from Dan Eby! Thanks again Dan!, Jeff

and heres a pic of my male, see how after the vent the tail thickness stays the same for a while, it even has a little bump which is his hemipenes (sp?)
