I think EVERYONE should do preventative measures. Get a pack of glue traps at the grocery store or walmart and make sure to put one AT LEAST on each side of the door to the room, put a couple others around randomly in spots you pay attention to everyday....I have found most escapes now on the trap BEFORE I know they are missing. Its mostly small snakes that get loose, and its much easier to find adults because they are not afraid of different things around the house the way babies are....so they crawl confidently. Just be careful getting the snake out of the glue and be prepared for them to go off feed through a shed cycle. Good luck.
