My 16 month old CB Egyptian is turning out to be a great little tortoise & has gone from being a picky eater to an eating machine. Within the past few weeks he has developed a taste for Mazuri tortoise chow which will make things much easier for both of us when he has to spend the winter indoors.
I soak him 3 or 4 times a week & he drinks voraciously. I know when he's going to pee because he draws his arms & head in like he's pumping it out. He usually does this a couple of times. Between drinks he raises up on his front legs while pulling his back legs in. When he does this I get the impression he's drawing water in through his butt. Can tortoises draw water in through the cloaca?
