Non Dimpled Eggs

jason May 13, 2008 11:09 AM

My first clutch of the year is on day 47 of incubation. One of the eggs has dimpled (It dimpled late last week) and the rest are still full. When I candle them I can see babies moving around in all the eggs. When day 55 gets here, is it safe to cut any eggs that haven't dimpled yet? Do ball python eggs ever not dimple before they hatch?

PATIENCE!

Wait until one of the hatchlings pips, they you can CAREFULLY slice the others if you want but you don't NEED to.

I have had eggs not dimple up and still hatch fine. It's no big deal.

I agree, I had a clutch last year that never dimpled on day 60 they all piped no problems.

My eggs never dimple. They are always full of fluid whether I cut them or not. You're not supposed to cut at all. You're supposed to let one snake pip on it's own before you cut the others. Technically, you can cut at day 50 and there should be no problems.

Basically, what you do is up to you. Just be carefully. Good luck.

Cutting at day 50 is retarded, don't do it.
