I found a few garters in a wood pile in my back yard last week. One was a simply stunning specimen. I considered keeping it for a while, but sadly I don't have the space at the moment. So I took them both to a park and turned them loose so the neighbors, or their cats, wouldn't kill them. The photo really doesn't do justice to the coloration on this specimen.

That is an amazing color stripe. I fiddled with my laptop screen for a few minutes because the color looked unearthly!
