Shedding

Ive had my ball python, damien, for years now and hes never had a perfect shed. Even before I had him, at the store, he shedded in pieces. Its never really seemed to effect him, and from what Ive read this happens to alot of people. Ive misted and soaked him frequently before sheds, but it never does any good. Is this just an average occurence with ball pythons or is there something seriously wrong.

I have 2 balls a male and a female, my male sheds decent never in one piece but it doesnt just flake off, my female on the other hand always just flakes and i always have to help her out. i guess its just a thing with some snakes

Well all you can do is to make sure your humidity is right and you can make a damp moss bed under its hide during opaque . But some snakes just have a harder time with shedding than most , they don’t secrete enough of the oily solution between the tow layers of skin and as such have a hard time with shedding . David
