In answer to the "smiley". I have no idea why its there.
I noticed it twice but could do nothing about it.
As for posting the photo.... After reading all the legal
stuff on kingsnake.com about posting other people's photos
without permission from the owner to use the image I can not do anything with it. I do not know the party who owns the image or have any way of contacting him/her.
As for all the people worried about this animal being exploited keep in mind that I don't know what these people are doing with what they found. That is; if they actually collected the animals or observed them. All I have is a small image of an animal which appears to be taken in the wild. The only other information I have is that two specimens were found at the time of the original post. My intentions were only to show the image and not to give any location information (not that I'm privy to that anyway).
If someone has a problem with me not posting the image then let them step up to the plate, post the image, and be responsible for the legal ramifications(if any). If someone wants it I'll send it to them but THEY will be responsible for it.
This animal is different looking and lots of people want to see an image. So; lets see who is willing to take resposibility.
If no one else is willing to step up then why should I?
I have no stake in this. I only did it thinking people would like to see something different but it's getting out of hand. As far as I'm concerned I can bury it and until (if) the "collector" comes forward it will remain a dead issue.
I previewed this message twice and there were no "smileys". If they show up in the final post its not my doing.
Sorry if this issue has upset anyone's sensibilities. That's not my intention.
