Hows everyones breeding going?

imridethelghtng May 15, 2008 04:18 PM

I hope everyones year is going as well as mine.I had a rough start this year.About 6 months ago i lost my reptile facility to a electrical fire. The cause of the fire was the ice storm we had knocked a line down.Unfortunately I lost 3 snakes to the fire. But my spirits are good,I had 16 boas born a week ago.33 days before that i had 6 childrens pythons eggs laid. And last night was the mother load.I had a first time female ball python lay 9 beautiful fertile eggs. Now the only question is yellow belly, pastel or split clutch? guess i will know in about 60 days.Ill post pictures of the female on her clutch, and the clutch itself later tonight.Anyway congrats to those with eggs, and for those waiting best of luck.

My season is going OK but as always could be better. I'm about 25 days out from hatching 9 Childrens Pythons. I've also got 92 Corn Snake eggs cooking in the incubator now. Unfortunately I am still waiting for 4 of my female balls to lay their eggs. I figured one female to lay last week but then she went back into another shed. But hopefully my biggest female is due to lay any day now.

Kevin, glad to hear about the Ball eggs. Shoot me some pics if the YB male is the sire!

I have 9 clutches in the incubator and 1 already hatched. I only had 9 clutches total last year, so I'm already one up. I guess I can't complain. About 20 more possible females to lay, we shall see what happens! Good luck to evryone.

We have 37 clutches on the ground. I would say we are just over 1/3 of the way home on BP eggs. We just started getting colubrid eggs today. We got three today. I would say the way it looks. We should have 30 colubrid clutches by the end of the month. Boas are looking good to.

Kevin, it's good to hear that you've bounched back after that bad storm! Sounds like your season is moving along quite well.

We've got 9 clutches on the ground, 1 clutch that hatched this week (beautiful little mojaves), and many many more to lay in the next several weeks.

Yesterday had clutches 17 and 18 dropped, and we're looking at 12-14 more before we're through for the year. Highlights include Pied X Spider. Pied X Pastel, Caramel Albino X Het Caramel, Lavendar Albino X Het, and Pewter X Cinnamon-(plus a couple of Dinker projects).

We also had the first hatching this week-100% Het Pied....
