egg bound snakes this year. It seems like everywhere I go, there are posts about egg binding. There have been quite a few on here, I have heard of other people with the issues and on other forums.
Does it seem like there are more egg bound snakes this year?

It does seem to look that way anyway, I don't recall seeing as many posts about it last year either,....and it's still very early, so there's bound to be some more to follow.

I'm wondering if the increased cost in rodent feed (I've heard it has gone up about 17% when bought in bulk) has resulted in some of the rodent breeders resorting to cheaper less nutritious food for their feeder lines, resulting in less nutritious feeders in our freezers.

I don't know how that kind of suspicion would even be investigated though.

that just struck me as funny. Sure you didn't mean the pun but talking about egg binding and saying "there is bound to be more".
lol

i know it looks like alot... and i dont know WTF is up with my girl, Emily... she laid 13 perfect eggs.... 1 fertile one that popped and a few days later i checked on her.... actually ran my hand down her belly to her vent and felt 2 tiny Hard lumps.... so i pushed... they were yellow eggs that were mostly calcium like and had holes every which way.... pretty gross.... pretty hard.... she's laid 16 eggs for me every year so i thought it odd that she only had 14.... but the other 2 were these funky nasty eggs...
happen to anyone else yet?? i should have taken photos, but they are soooo gross. and the girl is only 6 years old..

maybe there are more newbies that just won't leave the females alone ,so they can lay and not get too tired ,and quit then become bound......???

....sometimes the last egg or two won't come out right away......some people will worry alot more than others.....and some females will and some females won't pop them on their own.

I'm rambling........time for a break......gotta check for eggs.....LOL
