Chinese alligator (Alligator sinesis)

May 16, 2008 03:33 AM

Hi
After a long and cold hibernation, my sinensis are showing some nice behaviour. Every morning at about 7 they start claming their territory with heavy roars, that easely can be felt and heard 20 meters away and through some walls. Also during most of the night are they roaring together.
I placed 2 wheelbarrows of grass in their nesting box, and the female emidiatly took ower the place and have not mowed from there since. Now and then the male is accepted there, but mostly thrown away.

The female has stopped eating, so I cross my fingers and hope

Best wishes

Awsome creatures. I live in the US and really doubt any private individuals have them. The San Diego Zoo did. Best of luck in your efforts. cheers
