3 more pics of 1 of my imitators

kyle1745 Aug 31, 2003 10:16 AM

Here are 3 more pictures of one of my imitators. This one is getting used to the the new home, and has been a little more bold than the other one. I hope to have some better pictures soon, as I orders some closeup lenses to get even closer.

GORGEOUS pics. I think that I would try to use as many red and/or blue plants in a tank with imitators to really set off their colors against the background. I don't know why I just said that . . . probably because your pics just had me daydreaming about what I would do if I had a few of these beaut's.

Thanks, I have just ordered some close-up lenses too, so we will see. New camera is coming out also... Sony F828 it will be 8 megapixels. Can't wait to get it.

If you can ever get a photo of them with just a bit of early sunlight on them, they sparkle and glow-- like Black Hills gold, with the rose-yellow to green-gold tints fading down their backs and sparkling, like you want to get out your gold pan and collect any flakes of the precious metal that might fall off of them. Of all of my frogs, the imitators are the most subtly beautiful. Then, they have these contrasting blue and black bellies and legs that just don't go with the rest of the outfit at all. They have no taste in color combinations. I love it.

I am starting to like them also. I hope they lose a little of their shyness, over time in their new home. Right now one is a little bolder than the other. The one calls all morning though.
