Blue Nile Monitors

i recently found out that i have what is known to be a blue nile monitor most likely from egypt. i wanted to know any other information that might be helpful. is thier husbandry the same? is thier worth any more than a normal nile monitor? grow to the same size? thanks a lot, any info will be helpful.

Hello,
That is a nice West African Nile monitor. They do grow very long - 7' or -. Very aquatic monitor and the wild diet and lifestyle reflects this. As for value, I have seen them offered for as much as $400 but it all comes down to what it is worth to you. Nice animal- would love to see it again in a year! By the way, Sidbarvin who is on here "now and then" has some nice big Niles as well. Best to you- Mike

This fella is two years old. He is six foot four and weighs between 18 and 20 pounds. He eats six to eight jumbo mice or chicks in a sitting, ha ha ha.
