Awesome snake.

Wayne--
Limon seems to have acclimated to home on a new continent just fine! He's gorgeous--with a personality that comes through in the photos. What a wonderful addition to your reptile family!
Out of curiosity--what does he eat, and how often? Also, what temps does he prefer? This is the first time I've encountered this species thriving in someone's herp room, so it's a bit exciting--thanks!
rgds,
althea

Althea

Thanks for the words..

Limon eats several big night crawlers every day. I have been mixing a high calcium cricket feed with the worm food, and we catch night crawlers when it rains, then keep them in the food dirt mix.

I also have a dietary supplement that I roll a worm in once a week ( looks like a gummy when done )

He takes the worms right from my hand The kids love that.

He won't eat anything else, but worms are very high in protein, and the supplements don't cost much.

I maintain an ambient 80 degrees, and Limon seems most comfortable with that. He ignors heat rocks and basking spots.

He is very active during the day, and sleeps in the same exact spot, curled the same exact way every night.

When I first got him, the tip of his nose was rubbed raw, it shows in the early photos, but has since healed up. He does occasionally look for a way to escape, all snakes do.. but he has never rubbed his face raw for me.

As soon as I built that upright cage, he settled right down.

Oh and I mist his cage (more like soak) once a day with a spray bottle. The jungle has lots of rain, so I keep his humidity up.

Thanks for asking..

Regards,
Wayne

Thanks for the pictures. I have never seen one of these in person, which is unfortunately being a fan of arboreal green colubrids (see signature).

How long is that snake and how large is its new cage?

"How long is that snake and how large is its new cage"

Limon is about 3.5 feet long and growing fast, a shed a month.

His cage is 24x24 and stands 5 feet tall.

He spends almost all of his time up on the "vines" and only reaches his head down to drink from his bowl.

Until I bought this one, I had never even heard of Asian Green snakes. It was a gamble, so far it has been working great.

Someone might try to convince you to throw that snake in a sweaterbox rack lol. Arboreal rack may be OK, but I like your setup.

Awesome snake. Now that sounds like the perfect fit for those who want a tropical green arboreal snake that feeds readily and doesn't have extra long teeth.
