Very odd looking

SWREPTILE May 17, 2008 11:50 PM

Every year I get two, or three of these odd looking eggs. Tonight I pulled five clutches. I found this one in a ten egg clutch. I thought some may get a kick out of seeing it. These have always been good eggs. The dis-colored part is hard. I always have gotten a health baby. They are always the runt of the clutch though.

I'm more impressed how "tonight you pulled 5 clutches." Wish I could pull 5 clutches in 1 day!

Interesting Jim...ever get any where the entire egg is the darker color that eventually hatch?

You know iis like getting a twin. Seems to always be that special morph in the clutch that it happens to.

That's really not all that uncommon at all. They're referred to as "boob eggs" and many do very well with hatchlings that tend to be on the smaller side. With as many clutches as you say you produce, I'm surprised you think it's abnormal.

Well, I guess I never really made any claims on how many eggs, or clutches we have produced. BUT since you have put me on the spot. I pulled two more this afternoon. So we are at 44 clutches. With a total of 256 eggs.

It looks like your slightly ahead of me. I got 41 clutches with 249 eggs so far. As for the "boob" egg, I have only gotten one so far this season. Good luck.

I started one month early this year. I also purchased new ARS racks. I did not expect this to happen this fast. I have a couple of circus clutches cooking also.

Can't wait to see pics of the circus babies! Those should be sweet!
