I did another post....

on the Coachwhip and Racers forum...but I wanted you all to see this stuff as well...enjoy:

I just wanted to share a few photographs that I took while I was in Tucson, AZ a month ago.

This was the first time I've seen a completely black Coachwhip! Normally, in Arizona, I see red Coachwhips....and in Florida I've seen the typical black head, fading towards the tail, to a light sandy brown.

This one was after some baby Cactus Wrens...but they both were able to narrowly escape.

Hope you enjoy the following Coachwhip pictures:

Here are a few other shots I got while I was in Arizona…

Some Rattlesnakes:

Some Lizards:

Some Amphibians:

Some great shots Rusty. That mother wren was determined to protect her babies wasn't she. RW

the mother’s squawking is what alerted me to the snake's presents! The minute I hear the birds protesting, my Dad and I immediately began running in that general direction.

Glad you like it...see you in Daytona!

Those are great photos. I love the series with the coachwhip and the bird. National Geographic material there. Looks like you guys had a great trip.

were truly taken in the field...all the rattlesnake stuff was taken at the Desert Sonora Museum (a really nice zoo) in Tucson, AZ...the other stuff was legit...

Sweet post, Rusty! Not sure how I overlooked it for the last few days, but there's some cool natural history recorded there.
