it really depends on the age. most of them will eat all that you will give them, but that's not healthy for them. i've broken it all down on my website, on the left, under "Veiled Care".

A question for which there is no real answer. It depends on cham's age and size, temps, the size of the crix and the quality. Generally more medium sized crix with good gutloading is better than fewer very large older crix. For their surface area smaller crix have more nutritional value. A cham could eat lots of empty crix and still not be getting much nutrition. The best way to know how your cham is doing is watch it's body condition. Weigh your cham regularly. Look at the cham's tail base. A fat cham will have a completely round tail in cross section. A thin one's tail will show bands of stringy muscle with no flesh over the muscle. A cham who is at the proper weight will have an oval tail with the lower part slightly larger than the upper. You should be able to see slight ribs when he's stretched out climbing around, his casque should look smooth and full not collapsed.
