This little one was just dropped of to me. I thought I knew what it was, but according to my books I am not in the distribution range. So help me out. I am basically as far west in Florida as you can get.

I had actually just found it! Do you think I could convince it to eat chicken egg?

You could. I've had them on many things in the past. Easiest for me though was what they want..anole eggs.
Try digging with your finger around the foundation of your house etc. to find them.

Try thinning chicken egg with water & adding brewer's yeast to the mix.

They can be pretty finicky about eating, so don't be too discouraged if it won't eat for you. It might be best to let it go. If you just love it I bet you could find a breeder online who has captive born scarlets that are eating pinkie mice just fine.

I'd almost take you up on that bet.
Like scarlet kings, it takes some time and effort to get them to pinky eatin' size. If you see any scarlet snake for sale, that's taking pinks,(or not) it's almost assuredly a wc.
I've bred and hatched a few over the years and almost never see any cb for sale.
Scenting pinky parts or whatever is not all that hard but it does take time..

This one is of size to eat pinks. I would like to get it eating first, and then try switching it over. I am use to working with hognose, so switching is not an issue, just finding what it likes first. I will see how it goes for a feww weeks. If it won't eat, I will find a nice human free area to release it.
