ok there are three probes in the egg container...each to 3 different brand digital thermometers...one reads 86.4 it is a zoo med...the other is a zilla it reads 91.4...the other we got from lowes and it reads 88.7...ok the question is which one is right and are all the temps ok for the eggs?

An average is probably a good idea. With the three readings you gave, the average is just about perfect. You may try using a human thermometer, such as one used to take a kids temp. They are very accurate. Just shake it down, put it in there for a few, and see which of the others is closest.

The Brinsea thermometer matched perfectly with my helix display. cost me 10 bucks. Has a narrow range made for incubation. I love it.

well...is 86.3 ok?...would 91.4 ok....just trying to make sure the high and low are still in the safe range

with. It seems unlikely that the other would be readin so different. Get a REAL accurate human thermometer from the drug store for like 6 bucks and see which probe is closest...

I have my helix set at 89 for incubation. You should get a decent thermometer just to be sure. I put the thermostat probe and the thermometer in an egg box and wait a day or two to let temps stabilize, then if you trust your thermometer adjust the thermostat (if needed) to get the temp at 89.
