darker colors for the most part. although they do darken their colors when basking as well. they may also not eat, they may be puffed up and gaping as well.

Depends on species and how intense the stress is. Generally a brighter more garish color pattern and darker markings. Some species can turn almost completely black, but some species will turn very pale almost white so unless you know your own cham you can confuse this with being too cold or too hot. Subtle chronic stress leads to appetite loss, dehydration, not basking, and hiding in one spot for hours on end. When stress is more acute some species coil or lash their tails, puff with air to look larger, gaping and hissing, rocking back and forth on a perch or jerky gait and often holding one front foot tucked under their chin. But all this is really dependent on the species.
