Spinal Kink?

PHLdyPayne May 19, 2008 04:58 PM

Been taking out my snow corn more often lately than I have in the past (time pretty much left me taking out only to clean her cage) and I noticed what I think is a minor spinal kink...she's healthy in every other way as far as I can tell..she moves fine, eats every time I offer her food (never refused a meal as far as I can remember), poops as a corn snake can poop. But concerned about this kink. '

I was thinking of breeding her next season but have been debating not to do so..due to the fact she's small compared to my normal female...(she's over 4', the snow maybe a little over three feet...my normal male is close to 5' from the looks of him). But with this possible spinal kink and her small size..thinking maybe I better not...

Well, it sounds pretty minor to me, but of course that would be up to you whether or not to breed it. Since spinal kinks can many times be associated with high incubating temperatures, It doesn't necessarily have to be inherited genetically, and she could more than likely go on to have eggs without complication, or passing on any such deformities.
