Hi Steve,
The one thing I might recommend trying is a larger meal. These little snakes have a voracious appetite and often will take a larger meal before a smaller. The hatchling spotted I purchased last year would only feed on live fuzzy mice. He would have nothing to do with pinky mice. Also, I recently purchased a number of stimsons pythons and observed that larger pinks seemed to be prefered by most of the animals. They would often ignore day old pinks, but willingly constrict and consume the larger prey.
If this doesn't work however, mouse legs are often the best way to go. This tactic was recommended to me by a number of breeders at the Daytona show who raise Antaresia.I had to do this with some of the stimsons that would not take pinks. It seems to be a less stressful way to force feed them and often they will swallow the meal as soon as it touches the back of there mouth or throat. Also, after a single feeding of this type, some of the stimsons willingly fed on large pinks at the next feeding.
Anyways, these are the best recommendations I can make and I hope they help you get your new pythons feeding. Antaresia are great little snakes and I am sure you will enjoy them as they grow.
Good luck,
Chris
