My cali finally laid a full clutch of 11 after a bit of worrying and she and the eggs are doing really well. However, is there any reason why some cali eggs might be larger or different shaped than others? Mine are measuring about 2in long and very narrow like cigar shaped, yet a friend of mine got a clutch from his female of around the same size (4ft ish) and the eggs are half the length and far more rounded.

No,...that's nothing to be concerned about at all. Individual snake's can have very differently shaped eggs, even from the same female on any given clutch. Many times, a longer egg is somewhat necessary in smaller females to have the same sized hatchling come from the egg, in other word, if the egg is longer, but still fairly thin in diameter, that particular egg can accomodate the same sized hatchling as a bigger diameter female with rounder shaped eggs.

As long as they are white, to light beige in color, and not slippery looking, they should be nice and viable.

Good luck with them!
