Huge anthill clutch...and twins!!!

zach_whitman May 20, 2008 10:59 PM

So 42 days ago my largest female anthill laid 12 eggs. I was pretty psyched but the eggs never looked so great. they were greenish, had windows, colapsed, and even grew a little mold. I did not have high hopes. then yesterday I opened it up to this...

12 eggs and 13 hatchlings...hmmm...my first twins...wish I got to see them hatch...

I caught the last one on his way out.

I was just thinking about it and I think that this is the largest anthill clutch I have ever heard of. Anyone ever heard/read about more than 13, or is this a record???

Not sure on the record, but for the record they are very nice!!!

Congrats and just goes to show, when in doubt wait it out on the egg issues!!!

Kew little pythons and that clutch does sound big for that species.
