The Dragon on the right hatched out with a crazy amount of lavendar barrring. As you can see he even has it on his head. When he blackens his beard two thirds of his head turns black as well as the stripe behind his eye. He is a Citrus Trans crossed to a Red Hypo Het.

Hello Phil,
Very Good question. The Trans gene can do some crazy things to dragons. I really don't know why this dragon has barring on its head. My feeling is that when this dragon was a blastula and its cells were differentiating some how the message to turn on or off a particular set of Black chromophores in the head region didn't go right. Thus resulting in a dragon with funky lavendar bars on its head.
