I think the roswells are a super form of those. Opinions?
Either way , the gene is in there!
I suspect the same thing...the laddertails are so different in appearance from the 'classic' tailed siblings...and with that wild side striping on my trio and the laddertail siblings...it really looks that way...
The only nagging doubt I have, is why no other Roswells have popped up before...there were something close to 60 babies from the 2003 breeding my trio came from...I haven't been able to figure out where the majority of those siblings went...
I guess it's possible that it is recessive, and the laddertails are just there as a coincidence...but that's hard for me to swallow as well, considering the physical similarity of the laddertails/Roswells to Motleys/Supermotleys...

now the fun starts, breeding a roswell to a normal or back to another laddertail and see if any normals show up. Roswell x normal should = all laddertails if the Roswell is the super version and god I hope it is, those things are just awesome and I want one badly, lol.

Yes!!! Nice pair!!
I personally wouldnt say it is definately there just yet. its still to be determined if they are recessive or codom
I think there was too many of them to make it the super form but the head shape and all that stuff could really lead it either way. It will be a great project to watch grow. Im interested to see if the albinos will gain color on the stripes or if they will fade like albino motleys do.
Speaking of which could this be a suriname version of the motley? I mean look at the connected saddles on matts babies then the "super" form. just some food for thought.

Actually, whether it is recessive or codom, the same percentage would apply. If it is a super form, 1/4 should be supers, just the same as if it is recessive. Plus, she got 6 roswells out of about 26 babies total, so she was right on with the odds.
As for being the BCC motley, it is possible. The head shape and eyes remind me of the super motleys. However, the connected pattern animals do not have the clean bellies or side striping of motleys.

You have got to be stoked to have gotten in on the ground floor of this project
Good luck bringing em up to size and proving them out!

I guess the first question is...what is the background of these two animals.
