My female Gaigae had her second shed last night so I put the male in with her this morning. Finally got some interest!

Looks like more than interest, Joe! San Antonio Zoo stock?

Cole, The collector that I picked them up from last fall wasn't sure, but I suspect from talking with others that they are from the SA Zoo line.

That's great, Joe. Mine always go after the female's second shed and never before and this year was no different (but not for lack of the male trying sooner - LOL). Great looking pair you've got there.

Thanks Dave. I always enjoy seeing pictures of that "horse" you have there as well. This will be my first clutch so I may be a little more eager and excited than most!

Joe:

The past three years of breeding gaigae have all been different for me. Two years ago, they started breeding in late March after one shed. I got two clutches out of both females with 100 percent hatch rates.

Last year, they didn't breed until late May after their second sheds and I only got one clutch (both were huge - 15 and 12 eggs) that was not laid until early July and didn't hatch until the third week in October.

This year I put them in after their first sheds and they have been breeding like crazy for a month. So maybe I'll get eggs in late June?? I have not confirmed any of the females are gravid yet so maybe they are just fooling me for now.

Thanks for the info Rob, but I already heard it, LOL. We actually had this discussion at the NEHS show last Sunday, but I forgot introduce myself. Kind of hectic with two toddlers with me at a show. It was great talking with you and thanks again for the info.

Did you happen to get a glace at the Anery eastern that was lurking at the show?
