And the other one...

I finally finished the other natural terrarium for the second cornsnake. He really seems to enjoy it, and of course christened the tank as soon as I put the lid back on. I planted a Japanese Boxwood in it (which will be trimmed into a 'bonsai' style), a Fittonia, three air bromiliads, and a vine of pothos. The soil mixture is ground coconut husk/Miracle Gro Organic mixture/peat moss/sphagnum moss/organic fertilizer/orchid bark.

Looks really cool but are you sure its good for a corn.I mean it looks a little to damp watch for mold. And even though its "organic" I would be careful with the miricle grow.

I didn't just go by the "organic" label, I checked through the ingredients. I've used it in my other terrariums with no problems, although if I was keeping amphibians, I probably wouldn't use it.

The substrate doesn't stay soggy, just a little damp. I watch the humidity carefully in all my tanks. The two cornsnakes that I just converted to natural terrariums have had histories of bad sheds, so I believe a *little* moisture may help them. (They were previously ONLY on cypress mulch :P ) In the other tanks I have, the burrowing snake actually helps keep the soil from getting soggy, airating it naturally.
