red ratsnake

Alright so it's a okeetee corn.
This girl just laid 25 good eggs a couple days ago. She either laid 24 or 25 last year also. I wish all my other ratsnakes laid clutches like her. It's interesting, a large number of her and another okeetee females eggs each year are connected by a little string. I have had other species do this to a minor degree but for some reason these girls have half of their clutch connected each year by these strands. The connecting tissue is very tough and you have to cut it if you want to disconnect them. It's one of those things that make you go hummmm. Randy W.

That is one beautiful okeetee!! I've seen the string thingy myself with my Abbott okeetees! Jeff
