Outdoor enclosure

nyrich44 May 22, 2008 01:53 PM

I have an outdoor enclosure that I am getting ready to put in my backyard. It is 4ft by 4 ft. It was built so that I can put my Eastern hatchlings outside. My question is what can I use for a water dish. I have 4 adults who live in a diffrent enclosure but they have bunch of rocks and bricks so that they can get in and out of the water but with the hatchlings I dont know what to do any suggestions would be appreciated. I do not want them to drown.

I used paint roller trays and because I was still worried - lined them with cloth screen and added some smooth stones. They never had any problems and now that they're bigger they can zoom right through the dishes.

You may also try clay pot saucers. They are shallow and easy to get in and out of. Make sure they have a ceramic coating, though, or else the water will absorb through the clay and go dry.
