2nd 08 BHP clutch pips

derekroddy May 22, 2008 02:06 PM

I had high hopes for this clutch when she laid them.
And then.......like a lot of BHP eggs do......they started going bad... slowly, one by one.

Had 8... now have 3.
They were due to pip on Monday. They didn't so I pipped them yesterday.
Looks like one is dead in the egg but, cannot tell at the moment.
Anyway, this morning as I looked in (thinking the worst) I see this little head pokin' out.

I'll keep you guys up-dated as they come out....IF they come out.

Well, they're (It's) not out of the egg(s) yet! Haha.
You never know until they're out.

Sure, I'll get pictures up of them all... after they shed.
Right now they are all blue.

Thanks and cheers.

Ahhh Derek you're killing me. My pair bred for days. Ultrasound showed some nice follicles. Female began fasting. And then she began eating and it feels like any follicles were reabsorbed.

Looks like another bummer year for BHP breeding at my place, but I'm really happy you're getting a decent crop.

Thanks a bunch Doug.
I hope your BHP's go next year.
I remember your babies being really nice.

Did you keep any back from that breeding?

O.K. Thus far... one has made it out.

The 2nd one is still in the egg and the 3rd was dead in the egg.

Here is a shedder from the 1st clutch.

Cheers.

O.K. Here is the other survivor from clutch 2.
I'll get a better picture today.
She is very weak and skinny....I hope she makes it, as she is very pretty.

Cheers and wish me luck with these 2.
