I wouldn't worry about. The male hemipenes are extremely vascular. So when the hemipenes rub against those spikes on the female's legs or tail it is definitely going to bleed. It can also be pretty bloody but your dragon will be fine. Hope that helps.

omg thnx alot should he wait to breed again and how long?¿?¿
I'd take the last advise with a grain of salt and keep in mind it is an opinion. One of my older pairs that live together had the same problem this year. But it was the female that bled. My vet felt that there could have been a tear or abrasion inside her. I separated them and then put them together again in 3 weeks and the same thing happened. I'm not much for taking chances so they are separated now until egg laying season ends.
I guess the moral of the story is you need to find out who's bleeding and why. Any open sore could cause infection and is significant.
So every season I witness a minimum of 70% of my breedings. Every so often there is blood and out of all the breedings I have done it has always been the males hemipenes that has been punctured. Not one of those males had any issues. On a side note I have had three calls in the last month about white/gray things hanging out of a male dragons vent. The first two people called me before the went to the vet and we straightened it out. The last person waited after he went to his "reptile vet" and scheduled a surgery to remove the "growth" as his vet called it. So the day before he went in he decided to give me a call. I had him shoot some pictures of the "growth" Well guess what? The vet was ready to remove his dragons sperm plug in surgery. I have a at least 50 stories similar to this.
Thanks,
Randy

You have to be careful assuming that what you have witnessed, and that the outcome of what you have witnessed, is 100% of the possibilities.
Regardless of the size of your "sample" it is still very small compared to all the BD's in the world and the possibilities that exist.
It only takes one tragedy, after a well informed opinion was given, to change the way a person offers opinions.
Your right I have no idea what I am talking about.... Can I ask you how your Vet knew there was a "tear or abrasion inside of your female?" The answer is he/she most likely made a misinformed guess. Interestingly enough about 20 minutes ago I had a male DBL het male breed a Hypo Het Trans female and guess what happened? His hemipenes bled but what do I know I just thoroughly enjoy watching my bearded dragons behavior.
Oh and how come you post on here and never attach your name to any of your posts? If you want credibility I would start attaching your name to your posts.
By the way my name is William (Randy) Whitmire III I have a website called AlphadragonZ. I am also a Scientist feel free to do a Pubmed search on my name.
Thanks,
Randy

OK I give in to the "know it alls"
Your answers are juvenile. Forums are about "opinions" and there are no right or wrong opinions. History has proven many times that "scientists" don't have all the answers if that's what you really are.
By your assertations I guess that we don't need vets anymore. Just type a sentance here and Alpha Dragons will give you the only answer. lol.
I think the important question is how much blood? A few drops or staining are nothing to worry about..if there are big drops of blood, then it is a much bigger concern.
The scales of bearded dragons are sharp, even around the legs and tail base..I just had my female pinch my finger between her hind leg and tail base, I just wanted to push her leg out of the way of the cage door and I just happened to get her thigh, next thing she did was catch my finger....and it was a good grip too..which sent several scales pressing hard against the skin of my finger and punctured in several places. Hurt more than being bit by an adult dragon LOL
