Found lizard

tracie33180 May 23, 2008 05:54 PM

Hi I am new to the site and I am looking for some help. My husband found a lizard in the yard this afternoon and we are wondering if anyone can tell us what he is. He's not like any normal yard lizard I have ever seen, I am wondering if it is maybe someones pet that got away. It lets us pick it up and seems rather tame. Its head is shaped alot like the geckos and is kind of spotted. It has little pads on the bottom of it feet and short nails. If anyone can give me any help in identifying it I would greatly appreciate it. Also if anyone knows the care for it, we would like to keep it as a pet.

No, he is telling you it is a marbled gecko. Gekko marmoratus. Try to google these words to see if the images match your animal.

Where are you?? Locality can help identify animals as well.
