Hey Guys - I bred my '03 female albino Nelson's a few weeks ago for the first time (I observed breeding several times) and I am unsure if she is currently gravid. This is my first time breeding milks. I do notice some distention in the lower 1/3 of her body and I wanted to get some opinions from you all. If she is in fact pregnant, then she has just entered her pre-lay shed. What does everyone think?

Thanks!
Zach

Hard to say for sure. When you say a few weeks ago do you meen about 4.Cause gestation is usually 45 days give or take a little.

Shannon,

I first introduced the male on 4/20 and have been leaving him in with her for periods of 5 days at a time since then. Could the swelling be due to ovulation and not necessarily indicate that she's pregnant? Should I leave the male in with her for now?

Zach, it could just be ovulation but usually they won't ovulate through a shed cycle. She is either carrying good or bad eggs.
A couple weeks and you will know.

Good luck with her.
