baby water monitor enclosure question

Mman112 May 24, 2008 02:10 AM

ok i was wondering how long one could live in a 48Lx20Wx30H, my sav monitor is it right now i got him at 6 inches and he grows about 2-3 inches a month, so i was thinking that if a water grows that fast it should only take it about 3-5 months before it is to big for it, right?

or am i completely wrong and waters grow alot faster then savs?

if ur take care of ur water correctly feed it aa very good amount of rodents and bugs ur little water will become a 3ft to 4 ft lizard in several months. if u provide the right amount of heat gradients and moisture and food ur monitor will outgrow that cage very soon.ive raised waters and niles in a cage about that size when they are babies and in a few months they grow about a foot or more and become to large and want out of that cage. savs do grow at a good rate a lot like all medium to large size monitors. normally once savs reach a couple feet which is sexual maturity growing is kind of slower from there.a baby water is going to be a bigger handful then the sav would be.
the 4 ft cage that u wanna put the water in will be fine as a youngin but u want to have a larger enclosure a few months down the line.
good luck w/ ur monitor(s)
