My Friday....long and DUW

rainbowsrus May 24, 2008 02:35 AM

Got my CB110 racks from AP cages today, here's how I started my memorial day weekend.....

Fresh off the truck, Very well packed and made the trip with no damage whatsoever!!

After taking off the outer wrapping, again a very neat packing job.

Every piece was grouped as one of four units and each piece labeled exactly where and how it goes together.

Assembly process, one side and the top

Add in the the other side

Start adding shelves

all the shelves added

Attached the front casters

And then the front kick plate

In the middle of removing all the labels, came right off

Rolled the rack so back is up, on top is the pre-asembled dual side radient heat.

After slipping the heat tape into the sides, you tape it at the top with aluminum tape

Then at the bottom, more tape and double sided tape on the connector shrouds.

Attach the back,

Roll on one side

and stand it up and voila, ten tub CB 110 rack!!

I actually got four, the two with tubs are for the new room and go right where they are, the other two without tubs yet are for the old room once I clear all the boa stuff out.

Not on their site, had them design for me. They had already made a shorter version so was just extending work they already had done. The tubs are something around 18" x 36" (floor) x 6" high. I use them for small boas and adult BRB's

hey those look nice, i have a couple questions about the assembly;

how is that whole thing held together? its kinda hard to tell but it looks to me like each of those shelves sit in a dato thats cut into the sides, is that right? and what from there are they glued and screwed into place?

aslo you said you slipped the heat into the sides, how does that fit in?

if the sides are datoed then the heat would be kinked at every shelf, i dont know for sure but i cant inagine that being very good.

unless each shelf is notched around for where the heat is supposed to sit, then i can see how it would slip right into place.

so i couldnt tell from the pics and i was kinda wondering which way it was.

Yes, dado's for each shelf and is screwed together. The shelves are notched at the heat tape positions just a little deaper than the dado's in the sides leaving a clear channel for the heat tape.

Wow, that is cool that they designed that for you. I love my AP racks, and their customer service is excellent! Hmmm... room for 40 more BRBs? Sounds good to me!!

BTW Dave, did you take them out of the boxes and neatly stack them back in place just to take a picture? Silly guy.

Yeah, I really like them, no boxes, they came stacked that way on the pallet, stratch wrapped in groups of parts, 3 bundles of shelves, left/rigth/back and a box of smaller parts.
