Egg in water dish

ROC May 24, 2008 02:11 PM

Well I was suprised to see an egg in my female's water dish today. Both these girls are old timers and have laid multiple sucessful nests before, so it's not inexperience. It's been real dry lately. Any ideas why this would happen? I went ahead and put it in the ground anyway.

I always thought it was a humidity issue--I had two clutches end up in the water before my 3toe laid a third clutch in the mulch. I always just buried them outside and hoped they would hatch.
