Bimaculata with eggs

RandyWhittington May 25, 2008 04:14 PM

You just can't make some girls happy. I had two different nesting boxes of different sizes and temp ranges packed with moist spagnum moss in with her and she lays inside a hide box. Any females that don't settle down quick to lay I put a second nesting box in to give them more choices but with this girl that was still not enough. On the good side she did lay 7 nice healthy eggs.

Nice bimac and congrats on the clutch, Randy. My female is still holding two big eggs which have not moved down yet. She had been sitting in her nesting box for the last day or so, but has moved out and is sitting on top of it now. She dropped her three slugs (so far) in different spots all around her tub. Maybe it is a bimac thing to be so picky about egg laying spots? Maybe I'll put another nesting box in with her, and see what happens.

Thanks Toby. This female has never been so picky in the past. Who knows? Good luck with yours.

Good looking eggs Randy. I assume being on newspaper they didn't stick to the floor so they were easy to remove.
