As a Staff Sergeant in the USAF myself, I've noticed this to hold very true, usually for the negative.

So it may be a bleasing in disguise, I know I myself recieved more paper work in the first month of being an NCO than I ever had as an Airmen.

The pay ain't bad, but it barely pays for fuel nowaday's.

My brother is a marine serving overseas ATM.
