what speicies do i have?

It has a tanish color whith little tiny black spots on its shell and its shell is about 3-31/2" long.

since you posted here, i assume you know its some kind of softshell...from the color description it sounds like a juvenile florida softshell but of course a pic is whats needed.
does it look like this:
