Minimum size cage for retic?

Zazanak Aug 31, 2003 06:41 PM

Im kinda thinking about a male retic, but all I have are 6ft cages and I know thats a squeeze for a retic. Would 8ft be fine, or should I build a 10? Thanks in advance for help!

Buy yourself a baby and grow with it. As for your cage size as an adult "normally" a 6' x 3' is fine for a male, but it will always depend on the snake itself. Even males can get quite large. I know of some 5 year old male retics that are only 9' and I know some that are 16' . If you need a definite answer I would say as an adult plan on him requiring at least an 8'x3' enclosure. He could be fine in a 6' depending on his growth, but better to be safe than sorry if you are looking to build an adult cage before you have a snake big enough to put into it.

This is assuming you are speaking about a normal sized retic and not one of the dwarfs.
