Question about Breeding

cherokee_reptile May 26, 2008 07:56 PM

This is the first time I have seen this in my collection. This is also my third season of breeding. Has anyone ever had blood during copulation? It wasn't alot but none the less still blood.
I kinda remember someone asking this question last year. I did separate the pair when I got home from work today.

I've not seen it but a few people posted pictures of bloody messes during breeding. I think Misty did.

It doesn't seem to be a danger.
Blood seems to be fairly common in copulation. Sometimes just a drop or two to times when there is so much so you'd think one of them bled to death.
I put my snakes in a sterilite container for breeding and there have been a couple of times when the whole bottom of the container looked covered in blood. No adverse effect that I have seen.

Thanks everyone I was just courious if anyone else has had this happen. I did seperate the pair last night. I also have learned to double check sexes when I am purchasing new snakes. The person I bought this pair from told me the candy cane was the female .... lol ... wrong ...
