i popped a bunch of babies this afternoon and used a magnifyer that i saw at a herp show.
firemountain.com makes jewelery supplies and has a head band with 4 sets of interchangeable 2x-4x magnification glasses like lenses made of plexiglass as well as a built in headlamp for close up work. Costs around $55 i can also use for office surgeries/splinter removal etc but it really is a god send

Great idea.
I just got a Bausch & Lomb one with 3 lenses today. What a coincidence! Before that I was using two 2.5-diopter reading glasses at a time for close viewing of really small stuff.
