First, you need to determine what the cut was caused from.
Pictures would be helpful.
If it was caused from cage furniture- you need to remove it asap!
Is the cut bleeding/oozing/etc ?

How old is it? It is a cut and not where the umbilical cord was right?
Hes about 3 months old, I believe that it was caused bu a branch , of course I removed the damn thing. Its not bleeding or oozing anything at all, its just a cut. I'm really really hoping that after a few sheds it will go away.
Again, is it the belly slit that every Ball Python has, or is it a cut? Me personally, I've never seen a snake cut from any branch, whether wild or not. They just aren't stupid enough to do that.
Oh Dear Lord How bloody embarassing! Man goes to show that I know half as much as I thought I did about BP.
well its confirmed, its a belly slit. I examined another Ball Python and she has the same cut.
Sorry folks and thanx for putting up with my ignorence.
I did it once (or twice) before.
I'd never really noticed it-- until I got a really big burmese python in. She was all torn up, had lots of scars-- and this HUGE cut on her belly.
Went rushing her into the vet frantic about this cut (her guts will fall out her guts will fall out!)
She had several layers of retained shed so it wasn't all that clear.
It was hysterical.... i felt like a jackass.

I'll bet it is where the umbilical cord was attached.
