Wild pale milks

tricolorbrian May 27, 2008 02:23 AM

I found all these in the wild. Look at the variety.

Adult Pale from central South Dakota (these are really bad looking)

Adult Pale from northern Nebraska (what a difference)

Juvenile pale from northern Nebraska

These are all I have in photobucket right now. I'll dig up more later. These snakes are even variable on the same hillsides (except in central SD). It's amazing.

Good show, Brian. That second animal is awesome with tight saddles and an almost greeninsh ground color. The third critter is stunning (and full!!!). What a bright red head.

The screaming you hear in the background is me. The red headed youngster is an outstanding find!
Great pics Brian.....

Your a funny guy Brian. You'd complain if someone gave you free beer, "It's not wet enough." And yes I know, you don't drink beer. Jeezus!

All three Pales are outstanding. Okay, the South Dakota is a little dirty looking, but a stellar looking adult. I would have been pumped up to find it. Nice job.

The other two are smoking multistrata. Wow.

Now go have a beer, and pat yourself on the back.

Beer? Yick. I guess I just expect Pales to have a certain look to their patterns, but that doesn't seem to be the case in some places. That SD snake looks more like a really ugly gentilis than a Pale. Maybe we should call it the "Pierre morph."

terryd May 27, 2008 11:37 AM

I don't know Brian, I think I would just be so happy to have found a SD animal, I don't think I would care what it looked like.
Not to many people in this world have found SD Pales. Nice find.

Let's see more.

All great finds... but those last two... well they're obviously something. That red-capped animal is amazing. Simply amazing...

Yes, and it got out of it's cage several years ago (sob). The other 2 are doing fine. The ugly one eats like a pig, and her offspring are beautiful. Can't wait to see when they change to dog doo.

It figures that STUNNER is the one that had to get loose!... what an absolute bummer, that thing was insane georgeous

I'd only be yawning from all the yelling if I had but flipped JUST the second animal! Now that final little escapee damn near had me drooling on my keyboard -- ok I might have let a a lil' dribble actually slip out.
