hypo & het hypo ?

adamig May 27, 2008 08:47 AM

I'm thinking about breeding dragons but before i invest money id like to know the percentage of offspring will retain the genes from the parents. example if you breed 2 animals that are hypo would you get 100perc. hypo. if you breed a het. with a het. what are the numbers and a het hypo crossed with hypo. what is the best book out there for breeding reptiles(bearded dragons).also what is the best incubator for the money. thanks for any help. im just using the hypo as an example.are all traits whether it be hypo, trans transfered with the same consistency.

Het x het will be 25% hypo, 50% het hypo and 25 % normals becouse you cant see what is a het hypo you name them 66% possible hets Hypo.

hypo x hets will be 50% hypo en 50 % het hypo.

i bought a hypo sandfire a couple months ago and it lacks clear nails. this means that its not a true hypo correct. so i pretty much got a sandfire. i just called kevin and he said clear nails are another trait. sounds like i got beat. guess i should have read up before i purchased an animal.

depends on how it's sold to you. Was it sold to you as a Hypo X Sandfire or Hypo sandfire. There is a difference, if it is Hypo x Sandfire....then he should have black nails

i just talked to him and he said its a lighter shade morph of sandfire. hes selling them on this site. thats where i purchased it from.

the way he put it 2 parents lacked the dark pigments but are sandfires. i dont think that makes their babies hypo.
