Herps in Vegas?

crotalusfan May 27, 2008 02:25 PM

So, I just moved to the Las Vegas area, and bought a new camera, and am looking for some good herping spots. I am near Red Rock, so I have been spending some time there, but without much luck. I am from San Diego and spent many many hours photographing snakes in the foothills around my house. I assumed this area would be fairly rich in snakes, but I must be looking in the wrong spots. If anyone out there knows of any good spots, please let me know. Thanks.

I've seen some beautiful black & white Cal kings from just outside Vegas. Someone else found them. They were everything you would want in a B&W Cal king. Man its hot there.

Thanks for the tips. I haven't tried the spring reserve, but have been planning on it for a while. The pahrump thing sounds good, too. Thanks, a lot.
