When to bathe?

maggie* Aug 31, 2003 07:30 PM

Hi all,
My poor boys, one has a hernia (my boyfriend) and Mortimer (my Mali) is still going through his first big shed. Today he didn't come out at all, just stayed burrowed in the cool side of the terrarium. I finally brought him out to make sure he was okay, and he was SO cold (for a Uro). I had the boys cuddle on the couch together until he warmed up a little. I'm reluctant to give him a bath because I think it will really freak him out. When is it appropriate to give Uros baths? What qualifies a 'bad shed'? Anyone in a similar situation?
Thanks guys,
maggie.

if you feel that your uro is having problems shedding and or you feel it would help him i would give him a hot soak. Rico seems to be ok about it, until the water gets cooler then he wants out! after the soak i would blow dry him off, rico LOVES that part, especially his belly.
Good luck!
