Locality Holbrooki?

mfoux May 27, 2008 05:46 PM

In addition to Jim Sargent, is anyone out there working with locality-specific speckled kings? What about the lavender speckled king? I saw a picture once but didn't catch who owned that snake. Anyone working with these?
I used to keep specks as a kid and was thinking of getting into them again.

HaHa!! Nice photo Rainer. And we wonder why Pulchra are protected? The only thing missing in your photo is a
bulldozer and some dynamite.LOL!!! Here's an opaque
photo of my gravid Bass Lake Multicincta.

Actually with most of these places that have the rocks containing zoznta you will see small rocks in front of the large rocks to use a prybar to lift the larger ones.

Weird, but it has been this on most spots for a long time.

Yeah, it's not a problem when people replace the rocks. But in the 70's and early 80's people would just tear everything up.
I'm sure your aware of these horrer stories though. Now that we've completely changed the subject of the original post. How
come you haven't posted photo's of some of the Rosys you used to keep?

Great pic! You've got the tools and habitat complete with the small rocks as the fulcrum for prying up the larger rocks. Is this from the 80's or what.

When I moved away from Houston a few years ago, I gave all of my WC high yellow/lemon speckled kings to Jim Sargent. I have also provided Brad with a few as well.

I'm starting to build my collectiong of wc lemon kings up again as I've found a few with in the past few years. All the mentioned animals are of Harris County origin.

Later, Scott

Scott has/had some beautiful holbrooki from Harris County. Certainly some of the nicer holbrooki around.
Scott: Glad to see that you are again keeping Harris County kings. Can you send me an E-mail (blb1029@cs.com)?

Scott,
I recently met Jim at a show near Houston and again in Austin. I've also seen the pics of those speckled kings on his website. Great looking animals. Ours (in South Louisiana) tend to have a paler yellow color.
