Yesterday I received 2.2 CBB Kayuadi retics from Winslow Murdoch, one pair from each of his two clutches. The animals are awesome, absolutely flawless. I've been keeping boas and pythons for 22 years (still have my second snake, a male burm over 20 years old), but have passed on the retics because of their size. Although I was tempted a couple years ago to jump into the dwarf retics when they first appeared, I decided to wait a couple years to see how captivity affected their size. I plan to carefully record their growth rate and food consumption, and would appreciate hearing from anyone with any of the dwarf locales (especially if you keep similar records!). Ideally I would like to see my animals grow to 8 to 9 feet, but even at 11-12 feet they should be easier to handle than my old burm.
Once they settle in I'll take some photos. And if you're thinking about getting some hatchlings from Winslow, you will not be disappointed. Better hurry too - I'm not even sure he has any left!
