Tub size ?

sean1976 May 29, 2008 01:14 AM

What size tubs do you guys use for your sub-adult and breeder/adult cornsnakes?

I'm getting a rack for my sub-adult colubrids using 32quart sterilite tubs but was trying to figure out if this was large enough for corns as adults or if they would need larger. I am also in another year going to be getting at least one more rack using CB-70 tubs so I could move them up to those if needed but if so then I might be buying more then one rack of CB-70's. Or do the corns need something even bigger for breeding?

Thanks for any info.

Sean.

I use 32 qt. tubs for all my corns. With snakes over 4 feet long, I use a cage with 2 feet x 2 feet of floor space. I've kept a number of corns over the years and only a few have gotten over 4 feet. I suppose that the 32 qt. tub may seem a little small, but if you handle your snakes regularly, I think it's an OK size for most adult corns.
